Yin Yang Necklace

The Yin Yang necklace has become a loved and cherished symbol of peace and balance, to be worn on the neck as a daily reminder to keep yourself in harmony with your own mind, your relationships, and with your job and all other circumstances.

Many symbols of this inner peace are popular as iconic jewelry, such as the cross necklace and the peace sign necklace; yet the yin yang necklace seems to embody more than religion or peace, and infers a balance between ALL elements in your life, the light and the dark, the good and bad, the action and the rest, the control and the giving in, your strengths and your weaknesses.

The yin yang necklace symbolizes the balance between opposites, between the ethereal spiritual heaven and the reality of being grounded in the earth; rather than symbolizing one thing and avoiding or ignoring the other, the yin yang necklace does not hide from anything or ignore the things you don't want in your life; it reminds you that you must always be subject to things you hate and want to escape, as well as being subjected to things you love and want to have.

The yin yang necklace reminds you how to dance between these things you like and dislike with equanimity, with an equilibrium that keeps your efforts guided towards a clear seeing of things as they are, rather than getting lost and caught up in the wild roller-coaster ride of huge ups and downs, fears and comforts.

There are interesting details to wearing a yin yang necklace: in a way, a necklace is a 'chain', a binding, having a jeweled collar around your neck; and yet this chain contains a symbol of freedom and balance, so you could say that you're chained to your freedom, so to speak, one of the infinite paradoxes of the mind and its symbols. Also, the yin yang necklace hangs down lower, rather than being worn high and tight like a choker; it hangs over your chest, your heart, thus channeling the freedom and balance your heart desires, out to the world.

Small symbols seem powerless to some, but to others the power of what these symbols represent creates a real energy in us and makes a difference in our outlook on life and on our outward actions within all happenings and relationships; I love a cross necklace for the religion and peace it brings, but I love a yin yang necklace because it belongs to no religion and yet accepts them all, and it includes all the love of other peace or love symbols and yet all the darkness of the more stark and painful symbols. The yin yang necklace includes all things, all people, all situations, and invites you to accept the everything of your world and find your own balance within this everything.
